Thus the National Youth Conferences with Pastor Chris was born. Today however, after four editions of the conference, the focus has shifted to a global vision.

This Friday, over twenty five thousand young people travelling from Europe, Asia, America and several nations in Africa have converged in Lagos, Nigeria, for the delegates’ edition of the 1st International Youth Conference. The delegates’ session is expected to serve as a prelude to the main conference expected later and billed to have several thousands of youths around the world in attendance.

Speaking at the opening session meant to welcome the delegates, Pastor Chris charged the youth to position themselves to seize the moment. ‘Success is at different levels�, he told his audience, effectively saying to them, “hey, you don’t have to wait till you’re sixty or ninety to know if you are a success; be a success at whatever level of life you’re in right now�! With one phrase success is redefined.

While the wisdom of the age laments the pervasive world-wide atmosphere of gloom, Pastor Chris admonished his audience, “Do not let the darkness in the world drown your light!� Words crafted for kings; words that position one to confront the future with a bold face.

Little wonder, the youthful congregation could not keep their seats as the seconds ticked by! The words they heard this Friday night ignited in their spirits an unmitigated thirst for excellence and success. Pastor Chris mounted the dais at 21:00 hrs and stepped off at 21:30 GMT. Within this short interval, age-long beliefs were dispelled, myths busted, a new mindset engineered. A brighter generation beckons.

This was only the first session of the 3-day spiritual boot-camp. At the end of the session, a member of the audience remarked, ‘This is just the opening ceremony’. I thought, ‘This is more like the opening impact! What a night.
