Night of Bliss: A release of Power.
Bolanle Talabi
The atmosphere was incomprehensible, the jubilation inexhaustible as thousands gathered at the beautiful Excel Centre, for the long awaited Night of Bliss, Uk on Friday, June 27th, 2008. Europe rocked on its heels, London watched with open mouthed wonder and the world reverberated with the news: God was visiting Europe, one more time!
The night started on a spiritual high, jumping, dancing and great applause rent the air when Buchi sang the popular song “What A Mighty God We Serve”. The crowd with their voice lifted in unison sang lustily to the God they had come to seek.
Further on, Rev. Tom Amenkhienan set the tone for the night, as he admonished all and sundry to pay attention to the Holy Spirit and His workings during the night. This he said, would facilitate their getting the best of God.
The ministration of the Christ Embassy choir led by Brother Taiwo took the already air of excitement to another level as the palpable presence of God became overwhelming . Amidst all these, the Popular Pastor Gary Byrden presented a special rendition of Glory to God.
The readiness for the word was unmistakable as the Holy Spirit used every word from the first lady of this great ministry Rev. Anita Oyakhilome to bring further into the hearts of those present the very presence of God.
Pastor Anita who began by singing one of Sinach’s songs “I want more of you” admitted she was overwhelmed by the attendance from all over the continents of the world.
She enjoined the crowd to open their hearts and minds to receive from God because He was ready to touch them all. London, she said, had prayed fervently for Pastor Chris to come and in response to their prayer he was there for that night of nights; so only one thing was possible, a touch of heaven for every one.
To seal these timely words, Pastor Tuoyo led the crowd in a prayer session. Their request? That they would stretch their faith towards receiving from God. The overflowing Excel Centre, needed no encouragement to lift their voices in heartfelt prayer.
The melodious voiced, Sinach further heightened the spiritual atmosphere in the arena with praise and worship to God that ushered in the principality of our time, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome who mounted the podium in his usual dazzling manner and commended the classy decoration of the stage. He caught the crowd that was highly expectant with his graceful voice when he sang “When We All Get To Heaven”.
He further enjoined the people to tell five persons; it’s your year of fulfillment and went on to welcome everyone to the program He started by appreciating Europe for bringing the gospel to us and how we gladly accepted the gospel. However the European nations now need the gospel as many don’t know what it means to be born again he said.
The man of God took all through the journey of the power of thought and defined thought as pictures of the mind that have constructive or destructive possibilities and have power over emotions .Pastor Chris added, “ With your thought you can create a glorious program for tonight and what you want to see“.
Speaking on the necessity of faith in every born-again Christian, Pastor Chris warned against struggling with faith, referring to the patriarchs of old; Abraham, Joshua and David who had absolute faith in God and conquered insurmountable heights.
Differentiating faith from belief, Pastor said belief means you receive and know it will be done but faith meant there was already proof that it was done. He said no matter what the situation is , faith will always come through and if it doesn’t work, then it’s not faith.
With these words, he began to pronounce healing and restoration on all.
