“GOD is setting you up for greater success and victory”. This was the inspiring statement from Pastor Emma Akhuemokhan, the first President of the Married Men’s Fellowship, who was the guest of honor at the first quarter Men’s Convention hosted by the members of the Men’s Fellowship Christ Embassy Ikeja One at the Memorable Gathering complex, Ikeja on the twenty- third of February 2008.
In his speech Pastor Emma said there is a grace upon this ministry, which is to enable us accomplish the vision of GOD. He further reiterated that members must take advantage of the grace. This grace he said , can be frustrated, when one is disobedient to instruction given by the Man of GOD.
According to him it is the spirit that the believer allows to develop in him that will manifest. For those who still struggle with habits like lusts of the flesh, lusts of the eye and the pride of life ,need to deal with them in order to reign in life. Adding that the word is here to change us, he said that we should see yourself as assets to the ministry and that we must live to fulfill our ministry, keeping in mind that greatness and success is in our spirit.
He encouraged all not to miss fellowship meetings because what we are today is based on what we heard yesterday for knowledge is never a loss. Learning to partake in church activities like cell meetings and being in church he said, will definitely sharpen us for a blessed future adding that the scripture that says ‘seek ye first the kingdom of GOD all other things shall be added unto you ‘ is fulfilled when we take the work of the ministry more seriously.
Right after the message, Pastor Emma called for those who were not saved; many stepped out eagerly and declared for Christ. There were several of them.
After this the representatives of the Healing School and Inner City Mission, Sister Mitchell and Sister Dinatu respectively, came up to acquaint the congregation withthe benefits , purpose as well as the resounding successes of the partners of the two Ministry arms. Sister Dinatu started by showing a video recording of the activities of the staff of the Inner city who reach out to the abandoned, deprived and less privileged in the community. Sister Mitchell in her brief praised the partners of the Healing School, pointing out the victories of the establishment of fifteen churches in the Arab world which includes Jordan, Egypt and Dubai.
The program came to a climax during the Award Ceremony. Deacon Segun Adetiba, took the helm of affairs of this section of the events . He started by sharing his testimony, of the instant healing he got last year in his right leg, by confessing and declaring that he cannot be held back by any pain because he is a partner with the Healing school. Many others came to share the beauty, restoration, newness in their lives and that of their loved ones based on their partnering with the ministry arms of Christ Embassy.
The Award ceremony was sizzling as those who won were caught unawares. The first was the Soul winners award, which went to Brother Godspower Chioma , Brother Godscalling Diogu, from Lords and Kings PCF one , Eze Ngozi Ibekwe , Brother John Mba of Insight for men, one and many others. The cells were not left out. Cells like Shalom, Dominion, Charity and Supermen had awards for the best cells in the zone.
The event was described as gratifying because it fulfilled its goal, which was to re affirm as well as bring the married men to the fiery love of spreading the gospel while maintaining the leading authority in their different businesses and jobs. The members of the fellowship promised that the next convention will be more exciting and rewarding.
